At 1630 Solent Coastguard received a Mayday from yacht who reported that the skipper of yacht had fallen overboard 35 miles south of the Needles Isle of Wight. The French authorities scrambled a helicopter and a rescue boat from Cherbourg and St Peter Port radio assisted with communications.

It was a little different than a cat stuck in a tree. But Kansas City firefighters came to the rescue just the same. A crew from Pumper 32 was called to a hotel near 45th and Main streets Monday morning after guests noticed two trapped ducklings.
